Behavioural intervention and treatment of patients with severe periodontitis

Behavioral medicine interventions play a vital role in managing patients with severe periodontitis. Research highlights the importance of individualized care plans in supporting sustainable behavioral change among high-risk individuals. By incorporating psychological and behavioral strategies, these interventions can enhance oral hygiene practices, improve treatment adherence, and lead to better long-term outcomes.

Addressing factors such as patient motivation, stress, and lifestyle choices allows clinicians to optimize periodontal therapy and reduce disease progression.
