AI in periodontology – Where are we and where are we going?
This lecture provides an overview of the current state and future directions of artificial intelligence (AI) in periodontology and implantology. Existing and emerging evidence on the application of AI for diagnosis, risk assessment, treatment planning, and outcome prediction will be presented, with concrete examples relevant to daily clinical practice. In addition, ongoing challenges and limitations will be addressed as well as future perspectives of AI-driven tools in periodontal care, including insights from the lecturer’s own research and development work.
Dr. Aleksandar Milosavljevic completed his degree at Malmö University in 2009 and subsequently pursued doctoral studies, successfully defending his PhD thesis in 2018. He currently holds the position of Assistant Professor at Malmö University and is also clinically active as a periodontist at the Faculty of Odontology.
